there was a hole in the ground . it wasn’t a particularly comfortable hole, it wasn’t even a bare, dry, sandy hole with nothing in it to begin with. in fact, deep in the shadows near the bottom of this particular hole sat dr shy amidst the ends of worms, and it was a nasty hole: dirty wet and with an oozy smell.

dr shy however took no notice, he just sat down into the cold mud, groping at imaginary butterflies. he blew out a ring of cold, damp condensed breath, and as it slowly swirled up to the bright spot of light at the top of the pit it evaporated into nothing much at all.

looking up, dr shy noticed the dazzling yellow light hurted his eyes. “yess, it doess” he whimpered.
